What new tile looks like in a Charlotte home

These are example images, not our own jobs yet. Photos of our finished work take their place as jobs wrap up.

Built to last

Good tile starts under the tile

Cracked grout, hollow tiles and leaky showers almost always start with what's underneath. Scroll through the layers.

  1. 01

    A flat, solid base

Tile and stone go down on a properly prepped, level base. Big tiles show every dip.

  2. 02

    The waterproof layer

In showers, the waterproofing behind the tile is what decides whether it lasts twenty years or fails in three. Tile and grout alone don't keep water out.

  3. 03

    A full bed of mortar

Mortar is combed out and each tile is pressed in for full contact, so there are no hollow spots to crack later.

  4. 04

    Laid out from the centre

Tiles start from a centre line, so the cut pieces at both edges match and the pattern looks planned.

  5. 05

    Grout, trim and clean-up

Joints are filled evenly, edges get their trim, and the room is cleaned up before we walk through it with you.

Questions

Common questions

Where we work

  • Charlotte, NC
  • Nearby areas
Where do you work?

Charlotte and nearby. If you're not sure we cover your area, call and ask.

How do I get an estimate?

Call (980) 938-9165 and tell us about the job. We'll set a time to come and measure, then give you a clear price.

Do I need to buy the tile first?

Not necessarily. Tell us what you like and we'll talk through tile, size and pattern when we measure.

Can you retile an old shower?

Yes. The old tile comes out, the walls are checked and prepped, and the new shower is waterproofed before it's tiled.

Why does a level floor matter?

Tile is rigid, so dips and humps show up as uneven edges and hollow spots that can crack. The base gets checked and levelled before the tile goes down.

Do you do backsplashes?

Yes, kitchen and bar backsplashes in subway tile, herringbone, mosaics and more.
